Architectural Glass Portfolios

Examples of the techniques and how they have been used to create the artworks in the many different styles can be viewed by clicking the thumbnail pictures below.

Period: The stained glass window designs displayed in this portfolio are examples of the Victorian and Federation periods, and other traditional patterns, designed and coloured to complement the locations and colour scheme of their settings. Most are new works formulated using suggestions and ideas from the client, others use themes or ideas drawn from older designs.
Modern: This collection has stylised, abstract and contemporary glass works designed and made specifically to the client's wishes to suit the story they want to portray. The art works have been created in collaboration with them through shared styles, ideas and themes.
Etched: Etched glass patterns can be very detailed and almost look photographic. Many styles can be created but the majority are realistic in theme, with a three-dimensional appearance produced by multi-stage sand blasting. In some works the background is etched leaving the image formed as a negative.
Combination: This collection illustrates how more than one technique can be used in a design. For example etching gives the artwork a central theme, as in a painting, and the inclusion of fused glass adds uninterrupted colour.
