The diverse range of skills and knowledge required for my artistic achievements have been developed through twenty years of working in the trade, through trial and error learning the best way to accomplish the tasks, from books, workshops and networking with other artists. In order to create individual artworks I have designed and built specialised equipment to achieve some of the specific characteristics of my work.

Career Objectives:

  • To obtain respect and acknowledgment for personally designed, individually produced art glass, recognised for excellent quality and sought after by individuals, companies and community groups seeking an original artwork.
  • To continue expanding my knowledge of the complexities of glass as a medium and keep up-to-date with glass art developments.
  • To promote an interest in and knowledge of glass art in the community, through exhibitions, workshops and courses.

Commissions:

I have fulfilled many commissions for glasswork in corporate and public buildings, churches and schools and private homes. In most cases I have done the design, construction and installation but I have also collaborated with other designers. My works can be found in Australia and many other countries of the world including Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, Fiji, Canada, America and Japan. Some major commissions include:

1989-2003    Perth College: Hostel doors and windows, chapel window (designed by Robert Juniper), chapel stained glass window repairs
1994-2004    Saint Josephs Church, Albany: New dedication windows and repairs to existing stained glass
1998    Somerset Hill Vineyard: Cellar windows with a classical French provincial design
2000    Cosy Corner store: Circular window with Australiana themes
2000-2004    Anglican Church, Ravensthorpe: Dedication windows
2002    Tempest/Lipscombe home: Double glazed balcony screen using a variety of techniques on each panel
